What website could I use to sell a sugar glider?

I have a female sugar glider that i need to sell.
People recommend that you wait 14 weeks to sell a baby sugar glider. So i waited and my
sugar glider is now 14 weeks old. The mother just had twins
around Monday or maybe sometime last week,so i really need to sell the other baby.
I’m running out of room in the cage. Lol.
Help,please and thank you:]

Petfinder.com allows people to post pets that need to be re-homed. You could also try some of the local rescues, or a local pet store.

    Added 12/05/09:
When I say “local rescue” I don’t mean an “animal shelter”, like local Animal Control, or the Humane Society. I mean non-profit, no-kill, private rescues. Most don’t take animals they don’t have room for, or don’t know how to care for. And furthermore, as an owner trying to re-home an animal, it is the OWNER’S responsibility to be sure that the animal is going to a good home, or is going into hands that know how to get it there. Before you turn an animal over to someone, talk to them, make sure they know their stuff. If you don’t think someone can do a better job taking care of your animal than you, don’t turn it over to them. Most rescues have screening procedures, just ask what they are. Re-homing an animal is tough and takes time. Spaying and neutering might be a good idea to avoid this in the future. Petfinder.com allows private owners to post a classified for their animal. They review all ads before they are posted to make sure they meet petfinders criteria.

kijiji.com or hoobly.com. You may actually check those and see if anyone in your area is looking for a glider since many people post “wanted” ads.

If you are only selling the one baby please make sure you only sell her to a home that already has a glider. Otherwise she will get lonely and lonely gliders self mutilate and can die.

Also, you should get your male neutered so this situation doesn’t happen again. There are many many rescues out there and lots of sugar gliders in need of forever homes already.

Just one last thing. How many gliders do you have and how big is your cage? This comment worries me. Just remember that in Australia [where they come from] the minimum cage size for a sugar glider is 9ftx9ftx9ft.

First off, you could try craigslist.com (make sure you either make an adoption application, or find one online, you don’t want this glider going into a harmful or possibly neglectful home environment) Hoobly.com is a very good site to use, this is where i’ve found nearly all of my pets, i’ve also heard kijiji.com is good, although i’ve never been to this particular site.

Second, if your sugar glider is this old and still living with the parents, you’re liable to have some inbred babies coming your way if you don’t do something about this in the near future. If it’s a female, the father is very likely to get her pregnant, which could cause some severe damage to the possible babies and your 14 wk. old. If it’s a male, it could get the mother pregnant, sugar gliders have two uterus’ so even if the father gets her pregnant again, she could hold more babies. True, it may be a couple of months before this baby reaches maturity, but it’s still very possible.

You also should get the male neutered a.s.a.p if you are having trouble selling the babies, especially with another baby that old still in the cage. maybe you should think about seperating him to prevent more pregnancies until you are back down to your original two sugars. This sounds like a very irrisponsible situation to me, if you can’t find a home for any of the babies, there is a chance that there will be inbreeding going on, unless you buy another cage and seperate the males from the females.

    *EDIT*
Please do not give your sugar glider to a pet store, they often are extremely unknowlegeable about exotic pets, and don’t treat them correctly. You have no idea how long your pet will sit in a pet store, or an animal shelter, and as you probably know, sugar gliders are very social animals and need a lot of attention or another sugar glider in order to be happy, without this needed attention, they could fall into depression.
